“The pieces I have selected for this submission are recent works of acrylic paint on clayboard. They are etched paintings, as I actually carve into the work in a process known as sgraffito. I work with this technique and apply it across a variety of subjects as I am inspired. The paintings I have included would be a fun play on the “CSA,” both Community Supported “Art” and “Agriculture.” Typically participants get produce in their share, so what if the fresh vegetables, fruit, succulents, flowers or farm fresh eggs they receive came in the form of unique art?!
One possibility is that I will create a small scale original etched painting. The focus of the piece being nurturing/growing/tending the subject. Another direction is to deliver a signed limited edition print, created specifically for the 2015 season. This piece would be a combination of the work mentioned above, and would be on archival fine art paper. It would come ready for framing, with a sturdy board in a cello sleeve.”
